Metrics library

In Tresio, you can define and track individual metrics (KPIs) that are automatically updated. These metrics form the foundation for generating detailed reports.

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) are essential for measuring the success and performance of a business over time. They help teams monitor financial health, identify trends, set goals, and make informed decisions based on real-time data.

With Tresio, you can easily set up, organize, and visualize your KPIs in a centralized dashboard — enabling better financial planning and analysis without manual spreadsheet work.

Metrics library page

The Metrics Library page allows you to create and manage metrics used across various KPI reports. Here’s a breakdown of what you’ll find:

  • Attributes – each metric is tagged based on its origin: user-created (A); user-edited originally a system metric, modified by a user and displayed with a system icon and pencil (B); system metric – default, unmodified metric provided by Tresio (C).
  • Group – metrics can be categorized into different groups, the following groups have already been pre-defined by the system: KPI-Report, Swiss Income statement, Swiss balance sheet, Swiss cashflow statement.
  • Name – the title or label of the metric
  • Description – a brief explanation of what the metric represents.
  • Measurement – defines the unit of the metric: currency, company currency, number, percent

Metrics actions

Different actions are available depending on the type of metric:

  • Edit (pencil icon) – available for all metric types
  • Copy (double paper icon) – available for all metric types
  • Delete (bin icon) – only available for user-created metrics
  • Reinstate (back arrow icon) – resets a user-edited system metric to its original version, removing all custom changes

A popup window will appear with various metric configuration options.

Calculation formula – choose from a list of predefined system formulas. Each formula includes editable variables. Click the pencil icon next to a variable to customize its Data source and Category selection.

KPI report page

The KPI Report page displays all available metrics in a visual format, allowing you to customize the Step and Periods count to control how data is presented over time

Step & Periods Count

  • Step defines the reporting interval (e.g., Weekly, Monthly, Quarterly, Yearly)
  • Periods count determines how many intervals are shown

For example, If Step is set to Weekly and Periods count is 4, the report will display 4 weeks of data.

Example

Period Start: 02.03.2025. Period End: 30.03.2025. Step: Weekly
In this case, the report would show four one-week segments between the selected start and end dates.
