Intraday bank reconciliation

Intraday bank reconciliation allows you to display up to date bank balances in Tresio throughout the day.

By default, Tresio uses camt.53 files for balance reconciliation, which are also used in accounting. This ensures that liquidity planning and accounting match 1:1, for example with outstanding invoices and recorded incoming payments.

Since camt.53 always contains the final daily statement from the previous day, the displayed bank balance reflects the status as of the previous evening. For most liquidity planning use cases, this is sufficient.

However, if you require up to date balances during the day, you can additionally activate the intraday reconciliation using camt.52 files.

What is the difference between camt.53 and camt.52?

camt.53

  • final posted daily statement
  • reflects the previous day’s balance
  • identical to the data used for accounting
  • recommended as the default standard

camt.52

  • intraday movements during the current day (= up to date daily view)
  • corresponds to the data shown in online banking
  • not yet finally posted
  • subject to change

⚠️ Important: Intraday data is provisional. The bank may still adjust or correct transactions during the day. For this reason, Tresio uses the final camt.53 files by default.

However, especially in cash intensive business environments, it can make sense to also use intraday data for the cash overview.

How do I activate intraday reconciliation?

Intraday reconciliation is activated in 3 steps:

1. Request camt.52 from your bank

Please ask your bank to provide camt.52 files for intraday movements in addition to the existing camt.53 delivery.

Sample request to the bank:

Please provide camt.52 files for intraday reconciliation in addition to the existing camt.53 file delivery for our current EBICS contract.

These are generally the same data that are also displayed in the e banking portal.

2. Activate the feature in Tresio

Navigate to:

Integrations → EBICS → Settings

Activate the checkbox in the download settings:

Include intraday movements

3. Synchronize intraday data

To load the latest balances, click at the top right:

SYNC → EBICS Multibanking

Tresio will then load the latest intraday data from your bank.

The regular manual synchronization / daily reconciliation continues to run overnight as usual. The intraday view requires a manual synchronization.

Please note that after activating intraday balances, only the current balances are displayed. Individual intraday transactions are intentionally not shown. This avoids unnecessary confusion in the overview, as these movements are not yet finally posted and may still change.

When is intraday reconciliation useful?

Intraday reconciliation is particularly helpful when:

  • several larger incoming payments are expected during the day
  • short term liquidity decisions need to be made
  • daily cash management is important
  • bank balances need to be monitored live
